2nd International Haydn Competition for Classical Lied and Aria
June 7–9, 2019, ROHRAU (Lower Austria)

The Icelandic soprano Alfheidur Erla Gudmundsdottir (2nd prize – 4.000 Euro – as well as the prize for the best song interpretation – 1.500 Euro) was twice successful.

The International Haydn Competition for Classical Lied and Aria was held in Rohrau, birthplace of the brothers Joseph and Michael Haydn. It is being organized by the State of Lower Austria in cooperation with the HAYDNREGION NIEDERÖSTERREICH. The competition is aimed at young singers worldwide with particular talents and training in the areas of Lied and opera and focuses on the Wiener Klassik (Vienna Classical) era.
