Currently, the Icelandic soprano Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir is studying towards a Master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin under the tutelage of Anna Korondi. She is a Britten-Pears Young Artist (2018) and is supported by Deutschlandstipendium and Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now, Berlin e.V. (since 2016).

In spring 2019 she will sing the title role of Snow White, composed by Wolfgang Mitterer/Engelbert Humperdinck at the Berlin State Opera.

Apart from singing, Álfheiður started taking interest in photography as a teenager. At first she mainly photographed her friends in Iceland, but over the years she has ended doing portraits for a number of musicians.
